CURRENT TGU ALBUM: 'Moonshout' is TGUs 7th 'official' release. It's out now in France and already out in the UK and most of northern Europe. But in any case you can buy it here at the TGU Shop along with other albums on Mule Satellite, our own label, notably TGUs album before 'Moonshout' 'Impossible Broadcasting,' and a whole bunch of rare early CD singles from the Nation Records days.

TGU have already won one award in the Radio 3 Awards this year, in the Club Global category, but have been excluded from appearing live at the winners event in July….the ONLY winners in any category not to be invited to perform . Maybe we’ve been around for too long and have started to smell badly!

MERCI BIEN: TGU toured France for the first time in many years in April…..great to be back again and meeting up with so many people who remember us.

NEW RELEASE….LIVE DVD!...In August last year we played the very wonderful Les Escales festival in Saint Nazaire, Brittany. The show was filmed by Guillaume Dero and the LaHuit production team from France, who mixed it with some interviews and extra footage to make a 50 minute documentary with plenty of the live show still there. The DVD is available in France, but we have some copies too, and they’re available in the shop section here.

FUTURE RELEASE….BACK ON VINYL!...Drum and bass maestro RCola has remixed 'Dancehall Operator'; from ‘Moonshout’ and along with a seriously dubbed out mix from DJ Tayo, it’ll be coming out on 12” around the beginning of June. Details to follow.

SHIMMY AND TWANG: We've been asked many times if we were going to to a bellydance album....so we've had a go although those asking probably weren't expecting a surf-gogo-burlesque-arabesque-psychedelic funk one....'BEACH BELLYDANCE BABYLON' is the lastest release on Mule Satellite, featuring Tim and Hami from TGU along with amazing percussionist and longtime Natacha Atlas associate Aly El Minyawi. Another award thing….we had the unexpected pleasure of winning a BBC Folk Award earlier this year, for best version of a traditional song through our work on the album 'THE IMAGINED VILLAGE' on the track 'Cold Haily Rainy Night'.
